Many of us have heard the term chronic fatigue syndrome, but how many of us really know what it is? Chronic fatigue syndrome is, for the most part, a mystery. While chronic fatigue syndrome itself is somewhat of a mystery, it is definitely not an uncommon condition. The Center for Disease Control estimates that as many as 500,000 people may have the condition in the United States alone. The disease affects people of all ages and backgrounds, but mostly seems to target English-speaking countries.
People suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome can experience a number of unpleasant symptoms. The more common symptoms of the condition include headache, constant fatigue and weakness, muscle and joint aches, and inability to concentrate. It is important to note that many people who believe that they have chronic fatigue syndrome actually do not. Because the symptoms of CFS are so similar to the symptoms experienced by individuals who don't sleep well at night, many mistake the results of poor sleep habits for chronic fatigue syndrome.
If a person is always tired, the first thing that comes to mind should not be chronic fatigue syndrome. The first thing they should do is evaluate their sleep habits. Are they sleeping well at night? By combining proper diet, good sleep habits and natural sleep aids, many of the people suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome will be able to reduce, if not completely eliminate, the symptoms they are afflicted with.
